Graceful failure is part of tone

When a stream drops or a device falls behind, the fallback should feel composed, not panicked. Reliability has a sonic equivalent: no jarring discontinuity.

I treat state recovery and reconnection behavior as design surfaces with emotional consequences.

References are rarely instructions. They usually express a target feeling: width without smear, weight without fog, urgency without fatigue.

The work is decoding that intent and rebuilding it for the actual song in front of us.

Long-term replay value often comes from restraint rather than spectacle.
